Pastor and the Elders met after Easter to discuss many of the precautions that we’ve put in place throughout the course of this pandemic to try and keep church a safe place for everyone to be at. In light of the recent action by the governor to end the mandate on wearing masks, we have decided to do the same.
We still believe that wearing masks helps to hinder the spread of this and all viruses, and many of us will continue to wear them as the positivity rates across our county and region have been increasing again in recent weeks. Until that drops or until our congregation hits a higher vaccination rate, you can expect to see them around Faith, and we will continue to provide them at the door for those who desire them but don’t have their own.
However, we are no longer asking that everyone in the building wear them. Instead, we are leaving that decision to the individuals and families of our congregation to make for themselves based on their own comfort level.
That being said, we will continue many of the other precautions we’ve put into place.
- Social distancing between households and family groups in worship
- Continuous line distribution with only individual cups offered for the wine
- Three services to make it easier to spread out: Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m.
- Tithes and offerings dropped off prior to worship rather than during the service.
We will continue to re-evaluate each of these in the coming weeks/months and make changes as necessary.
As always, if you are feeling sick or unsure about your wellness, if you’ve been directly exposed to someone who has tested positive, please stay home and check out the service online instead until you are well.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and prayers for our church leadership during this whole process. We will continue to navigate these waters together, walking together in love (Ephesians 5:1–2). If you have any questions or concerns about these policies, please contact Pastor Brett Satkowiak.
